About the Creative Arts Academy

A vibrant learning community where students are empowered to express themselves, discover their talents, and ignite their passions through the arts. Students in this academy will select a track at the end of their freshman year. They will have opportunities to choose from the Performance and Theatrical Design Track, where they can explore onstage experience in theater, music or dance and exposure to the technical theater side of things. If students select the Fine Arts Studio and Design Track, they can explore skills related to drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography. In our Creative Arts Academy, the arts are a lens through which we learn, lead, and launch into the future.

Similar to the other academy programs, students will select a senior seminar course where they will create and present a final capstone project that will be showcased at the end of their senior year. Students in the Creative Arts Academy will also have the opportunity to access either Honor s or AP coursework. Seniors in the academy will have the opportunity to sit for various industry recognized certification exams.

Overall Academy Goals:

  • Students will be prepared to continue their studies in creative and related career paths.

  • Support students in developing skills for arts entrepreneurship, including grant writing, arts administration, and self-promotion, to sustain long-term careers in creative industries.

  • Cultivate Individual Expression and Confidence.

  • Establish partnerships with industry professionals, theatre companies, galleries, and arts organizations to provide mentor-ship, internship, and real-world experiences.

  • Offer dual enrollment opportunities with local colleges and universities to provide students with college credits and advanced coursework in arts disciplines.
